About United Smiles
United Smiles has been operating in Mernda since April 2013. We are a busy, modern and patient-oriented practice, and our modern facilities let us offer the whole family thorough, up-to-date dentistry under one roof.
Our practice
United Smiles is conveniently located in the heart of Mernda Village, with wheelchair access and ample parking at the rear of the building.

Modern, up to date dental equipment
Our modern facilities enable us to offer the most thorough and up to date dentistry available.
Digital intra-oral x-rays
All x-rays taken at United Smiles are taken in digital format. This is a simpler way of taking x-rays, as it eliminates the need for chemicals and x-ray film. Digital x-rays also reduce the amount of radiation exposure to the patient by up to one third, and are easily viewed on screen and transferred between dentists and patients.
Digital OPG
Our OPG x-rays are also taken in digital format, using a modern digital OPG machine. A single OPG image lets the dentist investigate many aspects of a patient's oral health, including wisdom teeth placement. All of our OPG x-rays are bulk-billed with Medicare, meaning there is no charge to the patient.
Intra-oral camera
Our intra-oral camera lets the patient and dentist view the patient's dental needs before, during and after treatment, helping patients understand what is happening during treatment and why certain treatments are needed.
Digital photography
Digital photography is used to help display the results of certain treatments, including whitening and veneers. It is often simpler for patients to see their results next to an earlier photo to highlight the difference.
General equipment
All equipment and materials used in our practice are chosen because we believe they are the best products available, and are kept modern and well maintained to ensure a smooth appointment for every patient.
Sterilisation
Our surgery meets and exceeds government standards, including sterilisation of all instruments and handpieces by autoclave. We maintain a clean, hygienic practice and take pride in our infection control standards.
Laser dentistry
At United Smiles, we use the AMD Picassa Laser Kit. The dental laser is used for the treatment of gum disorders, tooth whitening, decay removal and surgical procedures, and can speed up healing time and reduce swelling after a procedure.
Recognised standards of care
United Smiles displays Quality in Practice and Australian Dental Association accreditation badges on site.
