Dental Bonding
If you have cracked, chipped or stained teeth, you may be a good candidate for dental bonding, considered the most conservative treatment among cosmetic and restorative dental procedures.
Dental bonding involves only minimal alteration to the original tooth, and can be reversed if no enamel has been removed. It is fast, easy and cost-efficient, with results visible right after treatment.
The procedure
- The dentist determines your teeth's colour and shade to pick a matching composite resin
- The tooth surface is prepared, roughened and a liquid conditioner applied
- The resin is applied and secured in place with ultraviolet light
- The treatment is completed by shaping and polishing the resin for a perfect fit
Are you a good candidate?
Dental bonding suits minor aesthetic flaws affecting the front teeth in patients who are not smokers and have generally healthy gums. If you have a more extensive dental flaw, your dentist may recommend an alternative such as porcelain veneers or dental crowns.
